Its root, vi, to swell, connotes that it is a receptive womb, a pregnant void with the potential to give birth to all things… Zero is the fecund female principle, paired with the number one, the male animating force… We live our lives as if traveling a great circle, returning to our naked beginnings, having created for awhile our own small space within the infinite.”
